Description
Costa Rica, Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone. In 2004, a team of National Geographic scientists identified five regions of the world where people live not only longer but with remarkable vitality. They called them the Blue Zones. Of these, Nicoya is the only Blue Zone to cultivate coffee in meaningful quantities. The coffee itself is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols - compounds increasingly associated with wellbeing and healthy ageing. Unlike the bright, high-acidity profiles of other Costa Rican regions, Nicoya’s cup is marked by a softer refined acidity balanced by a full, rounded body.
