Description

Ethiopia, Yirgacheffe. The modern coffee plant traces its roots back to the region of southwest Ethiopia, where the legend of Kaldi is deeply intertwined with its history. According to the tale, Kaldi, a shepherd, noticed his goats becoming remarkably energized after eating the fruit from a nearby bush. Intrigued, he tasted the fruit himself, noting its bitter taste and sizable seeds. Much to his surprise, he too experienced a surge of energy from these beans and word quickly spread of their remarkable qualities.. Flavor profile: Winey.
