Description
One of our absolute favourites, a superb, bold, very full bodied and even pungent coffee with low acidity so a smooth almost chocolate-like flavour. Notes of smoky, woody and spicy, so you can almost taste the volcanic ash this coffee was grown on £10.35/500g Brews very well indeed in a cafetière and filter coffee (as always, let the kettle cool for at least a minute after boiling and brew for around 4 minutes). As it is grown next to the largest volcanic lake in the world, Lake Toba, it has very pleasant earthy, ashy (volcanic!) notes that are a reminder of this coffee's provenance.
